Situations of change can stir up a range of emotions and feelings, but change IS part of life and something we all go through. Even the body changes with age and time. We often fear change because we fear uncertainty, but the good news is that CHANGE CAN BE GOOD!

Major changes took place as the world was faced with the Covid19 Pandemic this year. From major company closures, to job uncertainty, loss of loved ones and change in the way we are used to living and communicating with people.

But if you are reading this, it means 2 things. 1 You are alive. 2. You have access to the internet.

So even though we may have experienced uncertainty and uncomfortable changes in this year, we can definitely appreciate that we are alive and have access to the internet – which is still a luxury for some.

As we approach the end of the 2020 year, let’s look back, reflect and think about all the ways in which this Covid19 Pandemic could have helped your personal growth or transformation.

My name is Maheshwari, I am also a Mohanji Acharya and I would like to share with you, 5 ways that this pandemic actually helped my personal growth.

One – Overcome the Fear of Public Speaking

When this pandemic hit and various countries went into lockdown, Mohanji immediately empowered and encouraged the whole Mohanji Global Family to just be there for friends, family and society. This could be achieved via interacting with loved ones via phone calls, but also through reaching out to people via Facebook Live. The Acharyas as well, were empowered to host online sessions to calm and ease the minds of anyone who wanted to join.

Since I was a child, I was not very comfortable to speak in public, and even though I have a B.A Degree in Drama and have done various stage and film productions, I was still very uneasy to speak in public, let alone on Facebook Live!

This was one of the major changes for me. As the need to serve the community, friends and family – whose Facebook posts were filled with fear and worries, I had meditated upon this fear of public speaking, and went ahead and did it anyway! I internally said that I will continuously conduct Facebook Live sessions, no matter how uncomfortable I felt, for the sake of possibly being of some help to another person who needs positivity!

In this case, my desire to help was far greater than my fear of public speaking and eventually, all fears melted away due to continued practise and persistence.

Two – Being Comfortable and Accepting of my Surroundings!

When the countries went into lockdown and we were forced to stay in our homes, I was forced to stay at home and not only accept my surroundings, but also conduct the LIVE programs at home!

We have a relatively small home and limited spaces to conduct programs. But since we were at home, that WAS the venue for all online programs, events, meditations, chanting sessions during the lockdown!

I remember in 2019 I hardly spent time at home as I had the fortune opportunity to travel a lot. Yet in 2020, I had to accept the environment, and find interesting ways to position my camera for online programs!

This really helped my level of acceptance, awareness and flexibility. As prior to this, I would only probably think of hosting events (even online events) at a proper venue with good lighting etc…

Three – Appreciation of Life and Loved Ones

Lets face it, as much as we may love and be there for our friends and family, but thoughts of losing them don’t really come to mind, more so because we block out this reality than actually accept it.

Now I am not one to say that I have fully come to terms with the reality of one day losing my loved ones, but I am thankful for all the people in my life, friends and family as well.

Maybe the fear of losing them has not dissolved as yet, but the awareness that I am too attached to loved ones has definitely helped me to realise that I really need to love, but detach from people and spaces.

This pandemic also taught me to genuinely appreciate all that my loved ones do for me and not just take it for granted that they will always be there.

Four – We are all One, Regardless of Country, Colour, Age and Status

This Covid19 situation made me go within and really reflect on life situations. Prior to this pandemic, we saw people, corporates and businesses in a different light based on how they project themselves to the world. But then all of a sudden, every single business, corporate company and person (whether celebrity or not) was under lockdown! We all, no matter how rich or poor, were faced with the same situation! Although and unfortunately, the poor were hit the worst due to poverty and lack of income.

But this sameness made me realise that we are all ONE in essence, experiencing life on different levels.

Five – We are Actually more Powerful than the Mind can Comprehend

When the world was hit with this pandemic, various changes occurred in life from personal to family changes as well as work or business changes. Some people saw this change as a horror story come alive. While some people used this opportunity to grow and soar!

This could be a bad time for certain businesses, but also a great time for other types of businesses or career choices and when we learn to swim with the flow of life and accept the change, we can actually become more successful and productive than before! People had to learn to adapt to new environments, learn new skills to take on new jobs after losing old ones. Businesses had to restructure and bring in products or services that are required for the current times.

This realisation makes me feel empowered to strive for the best, and focus on the power within, than the limitations outside! How as this pandemic positively impacted your life and growth? Do share your journey with us as well.
